This is an article on making college there years instead of four and a followup about the comments received on this idea by the author.

It would be a good idea as the waste and padding and tedium of the majority of college coursework is well-known. Colleges are notorious for creating degrees (education) and degree requirements in their role as a vocational credentialing service, to make more money. Colleges will not like this idea; the majority of state schools can even get them out in four.
